This is great to hear. That strong taste of alcohol seems to be sure sign of the beginning of the end. Maybe somwhere we should compile a list of sure signs that TSM is working.

Yes, you are definitely getting close Lena. It will interesting to see if my theory of the 30units/week threshold holds true for you. I suggested to Bob that once you drop below 30units/week it's game over. :)

Congrats!!! great to hear!

Oh Lena - so great to read this! you are very close...

I know you probably can't believe what Bob wrote right now - but getting hooked on AF days is what did it for me. There really is something about your wash-out days when you get to them. You have one...then you go to two and it all clicks. You would rather have a wash-out day than a Nal day. The number of units reduction is incredible as well...I do remember having a week or two of 'wow - the wine is tasting great and I can stop at 2!' but was still not AFing. This was happening just before I got to the other side of the hill (right before my down slope).

Great progress - you are definitely showing signs that you are approaching the other side - great news!!

Lena,

Great news. That is how I felt several weeks ago. As others have said, you are getting close. It is great seeing another Poco-nut 'Picking up the Pieces'.

Best Regards,
Tom

I couldn't wait to share the news. Just over mid-Week 20. I just had my first "voluntary" AF day in years. (By this I mean I don't count in the hospital with a morphine drip). I did not plan it. I had two heavy drinking days, because Teddy Kennedy died (as I said elsewhere there's a distant connection there), then it was my birthday. It didn't get entirely out of hand; about 8 for each of two days over several hours. I actually felt fine today. I decided today to get back on track with starting drinking later in the day. I'm trying to aim for starting until 6 instead of 4 or 5 (or, in the not-too-distant past, noon). Today I was busy and it was 6 pm and I hadn't taken my nal. I decided to put it off a little while longer and now here I am.

I was a little antsy for an hour or two but began to feel mellow, content, not remotely wanting anything to drink. I don't know what tomorrow will bring but I feel great now.

Again, I do not believe this happened. I literally never felt this day would come, despite all I've learned about TSM.

Lena, that just kicks ass! This is just hard to believe, isn't it? But it's really true. I can imagine how excited you must be to hit a major milestone like that. Congratulations!

:D :D :D
