Laughed at this - we really are each others cheerleaders aren't we ? Anyway - I am feeling better - have had an AF day today and can definitely tell there is no Nal in me ! It is amazing to me how quickly I always feel better when I have an AF day ! So WHY do I not have more of them ????

Hugs, Maggie xx

Sorry about your husband, Maggie. I am glad that your talk went well. Congrats on your alcohol free day!

Thanks Deena - going for another one today as well. If I am heading for the 10 day cleanse then I need to get used to AF days - right ?

Hugs, Maggie x

Maggie, it always amazes me that for me, knowing I am going alcohol free for 10, 30, or even 45 days can be much easier than a single alcohol free day. Congrats!

Oh gosh Deena - I truly hope so 'cos the thought of 10 days AF is sort of scary for me !! It would be lovely if I could do it though so am not ruling out that possibility !

Maggie from your description it almost sounds like I WAS your husband. I could stop for 5 days or 5 weeks and had done so on many occasions. Then I'd drink for 5 months straight. But in a pinch I could always stop. I used to call it 'my day of suffering.' It would hurt, it would suck, but I could do it. The irony is that when I did stop I'd always feel so much better but then end up right back at it. My wife told me on many occasions that I scared her. I was that guy who was slurring and stumbling on many nights. But I'd also snap right out of it in the morning and go to work. My wife and I ended up in counseling, not for alcohol but for other reasons. It helped a lot but alcohol of course was brought up on many occasions because even though that is not what brought us there in the first place it was an underlying cause as it almost always is an underlying cause.

Gosh Ocean - I so agree with you - it does sound scarily similar! The thing is that hubs has only seen me drunk once - tipsy a few times but only ever drunk once. And yes he did scare me - wow, so similar! What is ironic is that it is ME that is doing TSM - not him !!!

Hugs, Maggie x
