Hi Maggie! I always love reading your posts and your success is inspiring! I really think we have hit a breakthrough point and almost at the same time in terms of how long we have been doing this. I still think about wine and think "oh, it would be nice to have some wine right now" but the desire has decreased dramatically and I can weather through it. Keep up the good work!!

Hi AG - well, I took a giant step backwards this past week - drank every day and most days had 4 drinks! Talk about a step back! BUT I am now putting my big girl panties on and am going forward! I think it was my brain trying to have a last Hoorah! Hopefully !! I am feeling much better than I have been feeling the past few days - it has not been a good week for me but I am fine again!!

Okay - well staying constant if nothing else ! Not doing too well this week, like last week - but a work in progress !! I am not getting discouraged - I know I will get there in the end ! Staying ever hopeful !

Dear Jaba - thank you for your post - I think we are always harder on ourselves than others and yes I do want this to happen sooner than it is ! Your idea of taking your pill later would not work for me I don't think - I usually drink from around noon or 1.00 until 4 or 5 - rarely do I have anything after 5.00 - even when I get home later I tend to stop around 5.00ish - and hubs doesn't usually start until 6-7 PM !! It doesn't bother me that he drinks when I stop - he drinks brandy which I do not like - I only ever drink Guinness so unless we have that in I don't drink - well, will drink Kahlua and milk but that is pretty much it ! I keep Strawberry liqueur and Amaretto in for recipes that I use but would never drink those ....

I smiled a sad smile when I read that I and a few others are your hero's - wait until I am cured and then tell me that - but thanks for the shout out !! You are sweet .....

Where is everyone. I have moved up to 3/4 of a tablet tonight. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Do you ever get in a group and they talk about people who are drinkers. I got together with some friends today and we discussed our friend who died and the other friend who almost died. They talk about alcoholics and I know that I am one, will they be finding my body and be talking about me. Am I the one that they talk about behind my back. I have never drank in public and only drink at home starting at 7pm. I have had times that I wonder who I talked to that night and if I sad some inappropriate things to them on the phone.
Mag, I really hope this works, I need to get out of this.

I am sorry that the conversation was about drinkers and your friends that have died - that is very hard - and no, there is no way that they need to find you in the same boat - you have found TSM now and as long as you are committed it will work! It is taking a long time for me but I do know it will work eventually !!

Well, hubby asked if I was drinking again. I said yes and he went nuts. He has drinkers in his family. I told I am working with a doctor but he will not understand the drinking and the fact that it may take a long time. So I will have to see how we do. I go back to the doctor on Monday.

Ditto what Jaba said, Meggie. Get your husband on board by helping him to understand what you are doing. Our society is brainwashed to feel that abstinence is the only way. It makes perfect sense he is upset. Good Luck.
