She kicked buttt!
I had 2 beers and got out alive. On Nal, of course. Made new friends and took selfies with cute waitress. All good and home safe.
Steve.

Congratulations Maggie! It's great to see it is finally kicking in for you. 5 AF days and only 3,5 drinks! That is great. I am very happy for you.

Did it take a big effort to abstain now? Or is it coming 'naturally'?
For me, I am still getting used to this new situation. And I also have the surreal feeling you describe. I am also still very cautious about the future. Sometimes I doubt I could keep this new lifestyle up, just as it happened in the past.
Now we need to continue this. Change the habit to not drinking, or not as much as we used to. -For good.

I think it was Guapo who said somewhere that less drinking leads to less drinking. That is absolutely true. I have experienced that and I see that as well in your progress. Every day without alcohol contributes to the progress of less drinking.
I believe that the AF days thanks to your Nal-over also contributed to your great progress. The same is true for me. And it does not matter what makes you abstain from drinking for a few days, what matters is that you do it.
I feel that once you start to drink less you get into the flow of 'just' not drinking.

Hey Chicken - your numbers are amazing ! And yes the feeling is surreal isn't it ? And also like you, I wonder if it will continue - and yes for the most part, the AF days are easy - sort of - if that makes sense ? It is more or less coming naturally but then like yesterday I changed my mind and took a Nal - had three drinks and this morning do not feel exactly raring to go - on THREE drinks! I also slept really badly - so, guess who is going AF again today! And tomorrow ..... LOL

I know what you mean about doubting the future and keeping this up long term - I suppose for both of us it is such a change in our lives that it is hard to fathom! Time is going to be the only thing that shows us.

Great that it has all happened for you so soon - I am really happy for you,

Hugs, Maggie x

Nal overs are very useful.

An athlete used to tell me years ago that she could feel it in her performance the next day if she had even one alcoholic drink. Until you haven't had it I don't think you realise the effect it does have. I've also experienced that with recreational drugs which I only took over extended weekends.

LOL Steve - glad that you had a good time !!

UKB - yes the Nal-Overs are wicked for me now! They never used to bother me but I had three drinks yesterday and felt terrible this morning - and didn't sleep well to boot ! I am definitely almost there - well, nearly - sort of ..... ha ha !!

hugs, Maggie x

Chicken, it absolutely will continue. It will continue because you believe, and that is the most important thing of all.
