Hi Maggie, sorry about your new place and the flooding but as you said maybe the previous owners never had flooding before this. Did you guys get a home inspection?
I am drinking a lot lately too with all the stress of selling but now am so happy to have sold. I am packing like a crazy women as I have to go away for a couple of days and have everything ready for my move on July 1st.
Glad you have the AB which I wish I had kept mine cause it was so expensive but I ended up throwing it away a few years ago cause I would take it for a week or more and not wait that long, drink and my eyes would go blood red so I thought it was bad for me.
It will take away your choice of drinking and hopefully give you some AF time.
Actually I have dry eyes and most of the time they are red and irritated but lately even with eye drops they are dull and not very white which I am kinda worried about maybe it's too much alcohol for my liver.
Hope you feel better soon.
hugs xoxox
Nal On!

Tish - we are moved in to the new house and have unpacked most of the stuff - but the flooded basement is not helping. There is so much that needs doing here that wasn't apparent when we bought it too! Yes, I did have 2 AF days this week 'cos of the AB - I wish I could do it without the AB - although ironically enough when I went to UK I did go AF and without AB ! So how can I do it then and not here ? I don't know .... 'tis a mystery - LOL

Aww Cheeto, I am so sorry that you are feeling like this - and yes your eyes being red could actually be 'cos your liver isn't very happy .... when I do stop drinking my eyes always look clearer. Oh and yes we did have an inspection but if it wasn't obvious about the flooding it would not be seen - the old owners may not have had any but when we ripped up one of the carpets that was being flooded over, there was an old water stain on the back - depending on when the renovation was done, the sellers did know about it - and if they didn't disclose it we can take them to arbitration but it depends on when the renovation was done.... we also went over and checked our other house and it is fine thank goodness - we had a lovely dry basement there ! We have had at least 10 inches of rain in two days and a lot the few days before that too. The water just has nowhere to go.

I had thought about taking the AB tomorrow as well, but right now I would like to be able to have a drink after work tomorrow .... I shall see. I would have liked to do three days. My AB is pretty old and I did throw one lot out a long time ago - but 'cos of that, kept this even though I didn't think I would take it.

I am really happy that you have sold although it really sounds a mess for you until you are in your new place - I feel for you SO much - I would not wish that on my worst enemy!

Hang in there my friend, hugs, Maggie x

Well, just popped the 1/8 AB so today is sorted - if I take it first thing when my resolve is high it is good !! I woke in the night and felt okay and thought then that I really needed to take it this morning .... hubs was drinking yesterday and I just do not like when either of us drinks really - which also confirmed that I needed to take the AB this morning. Which means my 3rd AF day in a row.

Have a good weekend everyone, Hugs, Maggie x

Maggie, I wanted to add my condolences to you too regarding the basement flooding and all the work you had not anticipated with the new house. I'm not doing very well either; sloppy night last night. I hate this uptick that I seem to be going through. Waiting and hoping for better days for all of us. Hugs to you from Newlife

thanks Newlife - but we do need to just hang in there. Yes it gets old - but it will work eventually - really it will! I am on day 3 AF and am thinking about taking a Nal tomorrow instead of an AB but actually feel pretty good and am thinking 'do I really want to spoil how I am feeling for the sake of a drink?' I will see in the morning - if I can pop that AB while my resolve is high first thing then I am good for the day! I also found out that glued down carpet comes up fairly easily when it is wet - so it is good that it flooded 'cos it comes up easier - LOL

Have a great weekend and feel better,

hugs, Maggie x

I like the way you are thinking Maggie.

And re the carpet: every cloud DOES have a silver lining, right?

Hi all .... well, had an AF day today after having 5 drinks last night - stupid! I felt awful this morning so it was easy to have an AF day. I slept terribly last night - why do I do this ? I plan on being AF again tomorrow - but what is really getting me is that I have to take that 1/8 tab of AB to do it. Everyone else has their AF days without AB .... will I EVER be free of AL ?

Hugs, Maggie x

Hi Maggie, hey anyway you can get a AF day is all good and you had 3 in a row, Yay!
I had 2 and had hopes to have 3 but caved. I had quite a bit of wine last night as we went to my brother-in-laws restaurant where they kept pouring the wine and I never said no to the free wine. My cousins came into town from California so we all inbibed quite a bit hence me feeling crappy today. Yes why do we do this to ourselves???
Since I feel crappy I just took a Nal and am hoping to have just a few to feel better (great logic eh!).

It is super hot here today and I am sweating away packing the last bit of my stuff for the move, moving sucks lol!
Oh well I swear this will be my last move EVER!

Yes we will be FREE one day and hopefully sooner than later.
hang in there, hugs xoxox

Hey Cheeto - I laughed at you saying this will be your last move EVER - I said exactly the same thing to someone yesterday - NEVER AGAIN. I did not have 3 AF days in a row - I had 2 total this week - one Wednesday and one today. I want to try to have 3 next week....starting tomorrow. I am so fed up with not sleeping well and feeling yucky when I do drink. It just isn't worth it so WHY do we keep hitting our heads against that brick wall?!!

We have actually had the temps go down slightly from the 100 degree heat indices that we had last week - so to have the temps in the 80's is so lovely !! I feel for you with heat and moving - awful.

Good for you having 2 AF days in a row .... maybe next week try for 3 ? Maybe we both can try for 3 next week?

Hugs back at you, Maggie x

Maggie, hang in there.

Yes, cheeto, Maggie, why don't we ALL try for 3 AF days this week? Think how good that would feel. I know that my liver could use a break. It wasn't a horrible weekend (no blackouts or awful hangovers) but it was full of consistent drinking for me and I could use a break!! I'm going to try it!!

xoxo and Nal on!! Newlife
