Hey Everybody, The last few weeks have been a little crazy. I had a bad upper respiratory infection and a radiologist read the X Ray wrong and diagnosed me with pulmonary sclerosis which is fatal in 5 years without a lung transplant. This knocked me off my axis somewhat, however I stuck with my NAL and didn't quit TSM. Other than not posting at my usual rate I continue to make slow but steady progress. A little spiking here and there however the trend is going in the right direction. I hope everyone is doing well.
All the Best,
Retread

Retread, that is horrible!! I am SOOO impressed that you were able to get through that and stick with TSM. I know without a doubt that if that had happened to me I would have said "to h__ with it, I will do what I want!!" I am SOOO very glad that diagnosis was wrong. Did you get correctly diagnosed, and are you feeling better now? So sorry for your going through that.

XOXO Newlife

Hi New, The worse part was the fact that I was on a Memorial Day vacation with my soon to be fiancé when this nurse calls me to say I have chronic lung scarring. A quick internet search indicated that this was the incurable lung disease. I went back to my doc after the vacation and my oxygen level was 98%, my lungs are at 110% capacity of what's normal, and my X Ray was normal. All I had was an allergic reaction to high pollen levels and an upper respiratory infection. I'm fine thank God! I hope you are doing well, and XOXO to you too!

I am really sorry I haven't responded, that must have been really scary.

Did you notice a spike after the news?

Hi Everyone. Today is Independence Day, a good day to gain true independence for myself, and get serious about TSM. I've pretty much left it all to NAL and have done little else except count my drinks. My drinking is different. I just get dulled out, not euphoric. It's pure habit because it's all I've done for 40 years. In fact, I think I'm chasing a buzz that NAL has short circuited. I've tried before to go AF for 30 days and have failed. Failed because I just didn't care enough and the habit was just so ingrained. I don't crave alcohol, so the NAL is working. I'm going to double down and give myself a reason to feel positive. I hope everyone here in the U.S. has a great holiday, and I hope UK Blonde and the other Brits on the site aren't too upset over losing the revolution Lol.
Best,
Retread

ROTFLMBO ...... losing the revolution? We GOT RID of you !!! Too funny .....

Gosh that must have been so scary about your DX - what a terrible mistake to make - I am so proud of you for not resorting to AL !! Because of course we all know how much it helps !!!

It sounds as if you are really using the Nal properly - knowing that you have to do some work too - it took me a few months to realise that! I am now feeling that things are beginning to turn - so happy for you that you are feeling so positive and congrats on the engagement !

Have a great holiday!

Hugs, Maggie x

Hi Maggie, I'm sure you are glad you got rid of us because "those bloody colonials are all alike lol". Anyway, had a great 'ol American 4th of July with a skeet tournament (the ladies won of course), a slow smoked 18lb. Texas brisket of beef, followed by fireworks. I didn't drink, didn't want to, and didn't miss it. I really think the 8 months of NAL has done more than I realized, as I just didn't really try all that hard to see if it was working. I know it's just one day, but a big holiday like the 4th without alcohol is a very rare thing for me. So, I begin the day encouraged. I won't quit.
All the Best,

Yes it is - and yesterday I had decided to not drink - but did not take my teeny bit of AB - next thing I knew here I am taking the Nal - I am so disappointed in myself as I really wanted to be AF yesterday - I always drink at least 4, although 5 is the top as a rule, and feel so lousy the next day - I like feeling the way I feel when I do not drink. And I really cannot use the 4th as an excuse .....

Hugs, Maggie x
