Hi all,

Thought I'd start a thread here to update on my weekly progress. If you want to, you can read my lamentations on my history in Introduce yourself - Snowflake - My TSM story.

I have had another AF week, making it my 8th in a row. This week also saw the 2 month mark of AF.

I feel great, have a very rare visit of minor craving now and then. When I do,
I think about what I miss, and honestly, it is only the endorphine buzz, which nal will block anyway. Still amazed that I am addicted to such a tiny buzz and that I, like Dr. Escapa's rats, have been pressing the lever insanely for years and years chasing it.

All the best,
Snowflake

Thanks Newlife :-)

Good for you All41 - I think it is a great idea to try to string AF-days.

It kind of grows, so now I'm thinking to aim for 100 days. My own ambition is eventually to be able to drink - say 2 glasses of wine per week. Right now I think AF is the best road to get there.

Hi all,

Checking in with another AF week - now 9. I have started to forget logging my daily "AF" :)

Did have a bit of a traffic accident this week, and briefly thought "now I could use a really large drink". But then it was like a visit from an old friend - the one whose company you know is no good - so the next thought was "I recognize you, and I'm not going with you right now". I am sooo pleased with myself 8-)

I would like to welcome all the new TSM users with some unsolicited advice: Read the book, watch the film, follow the Golden Rule, and once you are up on full dosage don't tamper with it.

All the best!

good for you Snowflake, for not caving in on the accident thing! I know what you mean about the "visit from and old, crappy friend" business. your basic advice really helps me as I'm just starting out. I'm determined to stick to it.

Hello,

Yet another AF week :D YAY

This week I am realising that I really don't like being around drunk people!

Could be anyday: I came home from work on Thursday, and my husband was already drunk - well, not according to him - just had a few, but slurred speech and empty beer bottles gave him away. Not that he would mind, he is not doing anything different than we both have the last 10 years.

But I am changing, and I am growing an intense dislike of being around a drunk. And that includes sex.

It is kind of like looking in a mirror. I have often been slightly drunk when he came home. Most days having sloshed down a couples of glasses of wine within 15 minutes of walking through the door. Now I see that it really crappy. Who did I think I was kidding?

Well, I have not told him of TSM which means he thinks I just stopped drinking. It has made him cut back significantly, so in that way this is good for both of us.

Some more unsolicited advice: I have had a lot of inspiration from old threads on this "little ol' forum". Checkout update threads from Generic and Sideeffect2. And then there is BarryB3: "Barrys Back in Town - readdiction is real". That thread has had me both crying, laughing, identifying myself with him, and sometimes thinking he could be my husband :-) I know we have BarryB4 occassionnally visiting the forum, but I hope he will forgive me in saying you should read that earlier thread for inspiration!

All the best
Snowflake

Fantastic Snowflake, it really sounds like you are looking at alcohol with new eyes.

Yes it is not until you go AF that you realise how it is to kiss someone, and be close to someone who is drunk.

My partner knows I don't like kissing him if he's had any more than one or two drinks, so he tends to only have just that when are are together. He hardly drinks these days.
