Hi All - I would like to make a stab at renewing an interest in graphing. Those of us fairly new to the board aren't producing much in the way of graphs. I have been able to create a graph at the link and information provided by Yoga Girl, but I am not able to upload it to the board.

Since many of the old timers are declaring themselves cured or having regained control it would be much appreciated if some of you would help with graphing. In other words, tell us how you did step by step.

Thanks much.

Here is how I do it:

1. Once you made the graph in whatever program or online server, hopefully it allows you to save the graph as picture file. JPG and PNG formats are probably most useful for this purpose, with PNG giving much better quality for simple graphs. If you cannot save directly, use screen capture (an option available in many graphics programs used for pictures, photos, etc).

2. Once you have the file saved, upload it to ImageShack at http://imageshack.us/. Mostly self-explanatory there. Chose "resize" to 800x600 (a little too small) or 1024x768 (a little too big). It will prompt you to register but you don't need to do it. In a left upper corner below message "Upload Successful", click on the image thumbnail. It will take you to the page with full sized image. To the right of it, click on "Embed this image" and copy "Forum" entry.

Then paste it here. Delete everything except the URL and bracketed "IMG","/IMG" statements. E.g. keep this:

That's it. The image in the URL will be shown in your message.
(Alternatively, in Firefox you can right click on the ImageShack page with your image, select "Copy image location", paste the URL here, highlight it and select Img in the formatting options above. This will simply enclose your URL in the statement, which is understood by the bulletin board's software).

Just a reminder about the Excel spreadsheet my wife made for me - it has a graph built in, although I haven't tried copying and pasting in here. There's one demo sheet and then the actual one, which allows you to enter your units and have them automatically graphed. Still haven't figured out how to not graph zero values, so the line always drops at the end. If anyone can figure out how to fix that, I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone's using this thing and had success with it, please let me know.

HG, I can't wait to see that graph of yours. If you are visual person it really helps to see the progress downward.

Hallelujah - Praise the Lord - I finally did it! Above is my first graph...Ya Hoo. :D

However, I uploaded an older more primitive version of what I had been working on. Oh well, the numbers are right.

Hi - Forgot to thank Nutella. Your help did the trick.

Now, I'd like some help on an exponential line. I'm using the the web site that Yoga Girl suggested for creating a graph.....kidszone@ed.gov. It may not be fancy enough to do an exponential line.
