I know I keep posting all over this site but am looking for anyone who has applied this method to cocaine and alcohol dependence. I feel that the vast majority on here are daily drinkers(with some bingers) but have not heard mention of cocaine problems. If there is anyone out there with this dual dependence, please get in touch
Some research suggests its ineffective altho there is a section in the book says it can work?!
Anyone got any experience with this? three weeks in and things are shockingly bad with 4 major binges.
I am considring adding baclofen to the mix. But then again, I just don;t know anymore what to do...i almost feel like i have exhausted all my options and feeling desperate. I know its early days but I am determned to go fwd giving myself the best possible chance at getting better
Any advice much appreciated - thanks alot

Hi guitarcharlie and welcome. You might want to get hold of Roy Eskapa's book... there are several mentions of clinical trials of NAL to treat dual cocaine and alcohol dependence. One mention on page 168 says that NAL was found to lessen self-administration of cocaine in cocaine-dependent rats. There was a very promising clinical trial in Texas too apparently (on humans!). Remember this (even TSM itself) is a relatively new area of research and potentially the full applications of these sorts of drugs are broader than we know. [Personally (anecdotal evidence, but still) I found NAL to have quite an effect on addictive eating, impulsive shopping and other mindless, pleasurable sorts of things - but maybe that's just a psychological thing.]

So yeah... I say go for it! Can't hurt to try, you have nothing to lose and absolutely everything to gain. You're only a few weeks in, so it's not surprising that no miracles have happened as yet - don't be disheartened.

Best of luck to you and keep visiting the forum - it has helped me enormously.

Hey guitarcharlie - I'm with Gwyneth, it can't hurt to try. I am sure sorry you are going through this double addiction. I have no experience with that at all, but I'm sure I could have if I had given it a try! Hang in there and just keep taking Nal-Al-Cocaine and hopefully you will find some peace with this. You know that it does take time and patience. (I would try to moderate the Cocaine if you can for legal reasons).

TSM takes 6-12 months so you have to mix in patience. Unfortunately, I have no experience with the cocaine addiction and haven't read anyone here who has as well. You might want to try contacting Dr. Eskapa or Dr. Sinclair.

Good luck.
