Greetings all.

This is my latest entry on the CThree Europe forum.

It is now 5 months since I started my TSM Selincro experiment; now in week 23. Looking at my statistics it seems that the first 4 weeks of TSM when I drank ca. the equivalent of 20 bottles of wine really did it for me. I basically lost the interest and urge to drink, and I am still there. The following 18 weeks I drank the equivalent of 13 bottles of wine. Comparing the average daily drinking during the first 4 weeks of TSM and the average of the next 18 weeks, my average daily consumption is down by 99,76% !!! :-) But that's just playing with numbers. As I was mostly a weekend drinker statistics would also indicate that 60% of my days per annum were alcohol free, but then 20% were hangovers, 20% were looking forward to drinking and 20% planning the next party and selecting the booze.

The reality is that I have shown up to my life again and that can not quantified, but most certainly qualified; It's just great!!! I am now in control, the obsession is gone, my equilibrium is back. My breaks have been fixed so I can stop before I crash into a binge. My effortless and default value of every day is not drinking, but I can and will on occasion. It is like my habit has become reciprocal; I now have a daily habit of not having a drink, and if and when I drink, I don't drink very much. Priceless!

My gratitude goes out to Dr. Sinclair. May true love and peace be with him.

I can only wish that all of you enjoy the same success as I have. I am truly grateful!

-Wally

p.s.

My drink accounting is in UK units.
A bottle of wine is 9 UK units.
x0.564 converts to US units.

Thanks for this Mr Wally, TSM has truly changed your drinking and your life.

Like you I tended to drink in bursts, however for me those bursts could be any day of the week, and sometimes every day.

I also recognise the pattern of how your drinking affected every day, even those you didn't drink.

And now it doesn't.

Lovely.

Thank you all for your kind words and support!

Week 23 was AF for me. Week 24 I went on a trip with friends for 3 days. All the best drinks, snacks and food in the trunk (A Moveable Feast). I took the pill early afternoon, drank some beers and a few shots during the days, and wine with one lunch and with two dinners. No cravings after the trip, just went back to my AF days. Drank probably 25-30% of what I would have on such a trip pre-TSM and I would have continued the days following the trip in hope to reach a soft landing. No such problem now. Fantastic freedom!

- One of my friends told me that if I can keep this up for 5 years or so, he will believe TSM is working for me ;) So far - so good!

Hi all.

6 months since I started the TSM lifestyle. In spite of taking only about 30 pills+drinks during that period, of which over a third were during the first 4 weeks, I am still largely disinterested in drinking. This from an enthusiastic wine collector and an-every-opportunity drinker with a completely useless breaking system, is quite a hill slide. Moreover, I am quite content with it as opposed to the overwhelming thought of never drinking again while struggling and abstaining. Given the fact that I have had to take relatively few pills to turn me off, and the fact that I now go weeks without a drink, I still get some side effects when a take the pill after a pause. Some sleep disturbance and muscle stiffness - but that is nothing compared to were I was heading and somehow it all works as a further discouragement to drinking. But, we will see how this develops. It would be interesting to try Naltrexone instead of Nalmefene, but I don't know how to get that in Europe.

I don't dare to call myself "cured" and I probably never will, but I am thankful for the remission. I can't encourage you all enough to try this method, and stay with it. I am one of the lucky ones to get an almost instant effect, others seem to take a bit longer. I had been working on my drinking problem with all the traditional methods for 18 months prior to finding TSM. I now see that everything I did helped a bit to come to terms with my problem, although I could not count on staying sober and each binge got worse and worse. Habit-wise, I had already broken some of my main drinking triggers by taking a break from them and then trying again later without drinking (e.g. cooking, traveling, restauranteering, golfing, relaxing, fishing, watching sports etc etc). If I found things still interesting and fun without drinking I happily continued, but apparently I did a lot of stuff just for the excuse of drinking with it, so it was just good house-keeping to get rid of it. Sadly this included some people as well. Apparently some of my "friends" turned out to be just drinking buddies and as one of the things that don't interest me anymore are binge-drinking parties/trips/activities/meetings, I just let them go. Some people still make me think of drinking, mostly fun memories, but somehow it is not inviting anymore.

No binge in 11 months - a new record every day for me!

Good luck to you all - Never, never, never give up.

Great Update! Congratulations on your succes.

I'm 4 months down the TSM Line with fantastic results. Thinking about trying naltrexone to see if there are less SE. Did you consider buying here: http://privatepharmacy.net/medications/buy-revia-online.html

It days they'll ship anywhere, but perhaps it will be stopped in customs...
