SR,

Interesting. I've had the same experience lately with Nal and drinking. There are days where I get a craving for alcohol in the late afternoon, so I take my Nal on my way home from work. By the time I get home and the Nal has had a chance to take effect, I've lost my interest in alcohol. Like you, I usually drink something just to justify the Nal dose. Friday was a prime example where my wife and I went out to dinner with some friends. Took me about 45min to finish of one glass of wine and didn't drink anything else the rest of the night.

SR and Q, your reports are encouraging. My drinking seems to be all over the map - down to 1/3 less than pre-Sinclair one week, then nearly back up to the same levels the next. I drank very heavily on Friday and Saturday, and hoped to go light on Sunday. But by mid-afternoon I was feeling shaky, with very heavy craving, so took a Nal, and started drinking by 2:30 p.m. Drank three at home, four at a local bar, and another two with friends back here at the house. Thatsalottabooze!

What I hate most is that a couple of weeks ago my craving was way down. . .and then yesterday it was off the charts. My SO has had similar experiences.

Guess I just have to trust the method, and keep on keepin' on.

I've had days like that too, G4M.

Sometimes I think I have the cravings licked and then the next day I would bite your hand off if it had a beer in it. I am trying to just observe these days without labeling them, just taking them as part of the process.

If, in a month this is still happening, I plan to chart my food intake too- I wonder if increased cravings may be connected to food intake and sugar levels- but for now i will just go with the flow :)

An astute observation, Marb. I am not a big eater. . .sometimes have to remind myself to eat at all. But then I have days when I'm constantly hungry, and those days usually coincide with the times I have huge cravings for alcohol. This weekend was one of those times - I ate twice as much this weekend as I would ordinarily. I've also noticed that I get what feel like low sugar symptoms shortly after taking Nal. Sweating, shaky, dizzy, and somewhat spacey. If I drink a glass of juice it passes pretty quickly. Yesterday I decided to be sure to have a good protein meal before taking the Nal, and see if that helps.
