I've had a great week! All of a sudden, everything seems so much easier. I'm not consumed with thoughts of my next drink. The rules I have made for myself (Taking Nal, no drinking before noon, drinking only half measures and this week - half measures of wine mixed with juice) are easy to follow. The next challenge will be an alcohol-free day, maybe even this week! I hope everyone else is well!
Best wishes,
Tweed

Sorry I've been out of touch for so long! My numbers began creeping back up over the last couple of months, and I stopped keeping track (but I didn't stop taking the NAL) I returned from my summer vacation to discover there was no wine in the house, and as a result had 2 AF days in a row. The first in MANY years! Then my husband finished a wine kit for me.....so I drank all of that over the next month or so. Once that was gone I made a resolution not to buy any and have had 4 AF days in the last 6 days. It might have been 6 out of 6, but my hu
sband brought home a bottle of wine. I had thought that the NAL wasn't working, but it turns out that it was me that wasn't working! My anxiety levels have dropped, the nausea and the occasional shakes are gone and I am more active and involved. Now I'll catch up on everyone else!
Best wishes,
Tweed

TWEED ! So good to see you and I am happy that you are still with the programme ! Even when our numbers creep up, you still need to track ! That is probably more important than when they are good! I am happy though that you are having AF days and feel so good - and yes, YOU have to work at this - I think that we all come to that realisation eventually - the Nal is just a tool to help us, much as we would LOVE for it to be that magic pill that stops the drinking !

great to see you again,

Hugs, Maggie x

Thanks Maggie: I think I had a case of "tracking fatigue" but I was very aware that the numbers were creeping up. Having AF days certainly makes the tracking much easier - and writing AF on the calendar gives me a buzz! I'm very please with the way things are going.
Best wishes,
Tweed

Tweed it all sounds so good for you and I am so happy about that!! Also inspired as you are just a little bit further along than me. Yes, we do have to work at this. Darn it.

Keep up the good work!! Newlife

Sorry everyone - long time, no postings. I have continued to follow the program with some ups and downs. Last month I drank every day (feeling sad and lonely), but I'm back on track now! I am in Month 14 and have had only 10 drinks this month and 24 alcohol-free days. Not drinking now seems quite normal! I am so grateful to for the support I have received on this forum and from my doctor who took the chance on the Sinclair Method when he had no knowledge of it. I apologize for falling away from the forum, I'm sure some thought I must have failed, and perhaps been discouraged. In fact, I am a firm believer! I had hoped for quicker progress, but I am thrilled with my results.
Best wishes,
Tweed
