LOL that would be fun wouldn't it?!!

The German / American is my BF, the lorry driver is British- the BF got booted out.

I felt very low all day yesterday- obviously the after effects of drinking too much too quickly, but today I feel a lot more positive again. It has shocked me a bit to think not so long ago I felt like that nearly everyday.

I actually feel like having an Alcohol free day today, the first time since I started- if the cravings hit later I guess I will drink, but I am hoping they will be mild enough to ignore.

We will have to meet up one day further down the line- my life is a bit of a farce at the moment- as in I don't have one!
I had no idea how much time a little shop would take up, because when I am not there I have to stock it, I also have 5 dogs and 3 cats to look after. In retrospect I would not have taken it, it is a lot of bother for little return.

However, I am looking at it as an interim period where the main thing is to beat this addiction- as long as I feel I am making progress there everything else can go on hold:)

Well I had my first Alcohol Free day yesterday after starting the SM 27 days ago!

I decided after the Sunday when I overdid it (I did not really overdo it compared to pre Sinclair, but I felt low, and depressed, you know those lovely feelings you get after imbibing too much alcohol?) that I would put a tiny bit of effort into having an Alcohol Free day- I had already decided if the cravings came on, I would take the Nal and drink- I was not going to put pressure on myself.

I had 2 tiny twinges when I had to make phone calls (another thing I have got very bad at since my addiction progressed) but I ignored them and as soon as I had dialled the number, the thought of alcohol disappeared.

I always have a beer when I am cleaning the shop (another trigger- doing a task I don't like) but I had no urge for one at all.

Today I feel great- my skin and eyes are clear and I had a great night's sleep- I was also able to watch some TV without falling straight asleep (because of the Nal).

All in all, it was a fantastic evening! Tonight I have no plans- if I get cravings I will drink- if I don't I won't.

You suggested I start my own one of these Marbella but I could never compare with your wonderfully descriptive days and feelings. As you are about a month ahead of me (Night 3) I read this with so much interest. I worry too about the honeymoon being over. As you did though I am enjoying it. Only 1.5 drinks tonight. I had one beer and had half a glass left in a bottle of wine. Pre Nal would have opened the next bottle - but thought I would try just the half. And success.
So keep up the fab postings.

During recent period of 2/3 weeks AF, I felt and looked so great (comparatively!!) Now after a couple of weeks back on the booze, feeling bloaty and depressed. Keep posting, love reading them. Yeah Marbella - well done! That's really awesome to get a planned AF day under your belt and sounds like the cravings weren't too bad.

It is funny how much better your skin/eyes look when you are free of the stuff, even for a day. I always feel like when someone tells me I look nice or I've done a good job...if they only knew it takes me twice the effort because of the alcohol I pour into my body each day. Red splotches to cover up, red eyes, undereye circles, pushing through the lethargy, taming the moods (I sound like such a beauty, huh?)....the non-drinkers have it so easy!

Enjoy the day and we are proud of you,

Congraulations!! You are so much following my pattern that I think it is pretty standard. Please read my last post in my weekly progress report.

Warning, do not be surprised if you have an uptick in your consumption and do regard it as a setback. I am quite sure it is natural. I explain it in more detail in my thread.

Very quick update as I go into week 5- after my AF day on Tuesday I decided to have a drink on Wednesday. If I have ever managed to go AF for a day pre-Sinclair it is of little use, because I would end up drinking double the following day.

I wondered if my drinking would go up on Wednesday- it did not, I had only 2 beers and yesterday I opened 2 but did not quite manage to finish the second one.

Its all good!

Marbella,

I also had my first AF day, on Wednesday. No problem.

On Thursday, I drank - but only four glasses of wine, then went to water. (The small - for me - amount of wine got me VERY toasted, tho. . .)

Isn't this a great ride to be taking together? Thank you so much for instigating this MB!

It surely is a great ride to be on.

I am very very grateful to be doing this with others- I first read about it way back in September, but I couldn't get the book straightaway, so I researched what I could online and got the nal from a doctor, supposedly for abstinance.

I then started a thread on MWO to document my progress but gave up after about 10 days as I was very nauseous, and had nobody to ask anything, not even the book to refer to.

I hope that little experiment did do some good though, because the thread became quite long, and others began finding their way to MWO when they were googling for info on Naltrexone and the Sinclair Method.

Before long there were a little group there starting TSM, and I decided to give it another try and jumped back on with them! It is absolutely a completely different world when you have others to compare notes to.
So thank you to all my fellow Sinclairists here, and of course Drs Eskapa and Sinclair.

(I can't take thanks for the MB though- I had just started one myself before I knew RV had began this one- but Thanks for this one must go to RV!)
