Another question I have for all...did you ever consider drinking WITHOUT Nal to get that high? If so, what was it like?

I never have, but I've heard of people doing it. There are a few oddballs out there who take nal to keep themselves under control in some situations, but seek to get smashed in others. These folks are obviously not looking for a true cure.

I have no idea how that works out long-term, though. I would guess that they take nal less and less often, and eventually end up back in the dark hole again.

I try notto think about that. It takes disciple, but i try to only remember my experience of drinking on nal.

I drank a time or two without the Nal and it didn't feel like it did before I started taking Nal.

I briefly thought that maybe I could occasionally drink without it but someone around here suggested googling "intermittent reinforement and extinction" which I did then got scared! This is one thing I read:

"One of the useful principles discovered by behavioral psychologists is that intermittent reinforcement increases resistance to extinction."

Im glad you did google it. As you found out, its a really, really bad idea.

Now I feel like I got some value out of that psych 101 class all those years ago.
