Okay...there are too many posts to keep up with!!! I find myself wanting to see how everyone is doing and read it all and then I want to sip my wine when doing so and next thing I know I'm up until midnight/1am every night doing that while multitasking with other stuff when I should be just relaxing, getting things done and going to bed. Good news is my overall consumption is still lower, but still! Love and support you all but think I need to detach a little. So there might be a plan in my future where I check in with you guys a little less. I know I don't post as often as some but I have been reading almost all new posts every day for a while. Gonna think about it. Take care all, Illuminae

Funny, I have been feeling the same way Illuminea!

I come here, read about drinking, then want to start drinking. I love the wonderful people, support and stories here, but I feel like I need to have some distance to not be so obsessed with drinking. Sometimes just being here creates craving that might not be there otherwise.

Okay, I am off to nurse my latest white wine hangover.

Great to hear from both of you great ladies. This site is a great way for me to waste time and I spend way more time here than I probably should :ugeek: Someone told me once AA meetings are like free therapy (yeah a la "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest") I have a lot more fun with TSM peeps.
Sending you both tons of positive energy :P

I've been staying away myself and it seems to be helping. I never really made a conscious effort to do so, but not being so obsessed with TSM is actually helping TSM in my case. I don't think about it until someone asks how I'm doing and I tell them. they always say I look great and happy. this stuff often comes from people with years of sobriety. like my dad with like 9 and my aunt with 17 years. they both went to AA at first but don't work steps or get into the dogma. I think that's the way to quit. if you really want to totally quit, f***ing quit. sure is nice to have TSM though. way easier :D it's like the less I think about it the better it works
