Rubbish week last week but last night I had a milestone- one of those moments when you just know the process is working on some level. I've had a few of these and they really keep me going when the numbers go up. The milestone last night was that my husband asked me to go to the pub. It was a Thursday night, he is a weekend drinker and never wants to drink during the week, for this reason weekdays where when I did the bulk of my secret drinking. Anyway pre TSM I would have been out the door like a flash if he had suggested a week night drinking session but last night I genuinely did not want to go- I actually tried to make myself want to go and I just couldn't. In fact we ended up having a bit of an argument because I wouldn't go! Fantastic!

Wondered what other peoples milestones were/ are?

Congratulations. :)

My most recent milestone occurred this week, and it was having my first alcohol free in six weeks.

Congatulations to you both!! That IS a milestone!! I am happy for you. YAAA!!! Susie, that has been one of my BIGGEST triggers! When my Husband Rich, is home. Always a ticket to over-indulge. Still is a bit of a trigger. I am fighting it. I am happy that you chose not to go. It only proves the SM is working behind the scene. :)

I'm finishing week 16, faithfully taking my Nal one hour before drinking. My weekly goal, which I chart, is three AF days and 7 units total. I know that sounds comparatively modest, but the worst I've done in the past year or so is 16 units weekly and a blackout weekly. And I usually record about 9-12 units, but keep aiming for 7, feeling that that consumption is not harmful.

Thought I was experiencing more control, but last night I drank 5 glasses of wine out with DH. He didn't stop, either, and I usually count on him to cut us off at 2 or 3.

Why didn't the Nal stop me from going so far? I just kept right on drinking as if Nal never existed. I'm now going through the concern about does Nal work for me?
I'm not going to stop trying. But after 16 weeks, I'm feeling undone.

Two milestones I've noted were:

1) When I was able to delay the first drink on the weekend days to be the same as on week days. Initially, that was 5:15, now it is after 7:30.

2) When a 1.75 liter bottle of bourbon lasted a whole week instead of just 3 days.

My little milestone is I've been AF two days in a row. In dealing with the habit of drinking, I poured some cranberry cocktail and caffeine-free diet gingerale in a wine glass and sipped while watching TV. Very refreshing and satisfied the habit and ritual of drinking in the evenings.
